You never realize how much stuff you shove against the wall until you need to measure for replacement baseboards.
Just an observation as we get the house ready for its new occupants.

Ten years ago today, I drove my bride-to-be to Old Town Alexandria, walked with her down Queen Street (near the location of our first date) to a little gazebo on the Potomac, and asked her to marry me.
(She said yes.)
We continue to live happily ever after.

Audemus jura nostra defendere

Saturday, May 13th, 2006

We’ve been in Montgomery, Alabama, for the weekend to attend the wedding of my cousin’s daughter. It was a very nice affair, with the wedding at a large United Methodist Church in Montgomery, and the reception at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts.
When we entered Alabama on Friday, we stopped at the Welcome Center […]

The Evolution of Dance

Thursday, May 11th, 2006

My sister put me on to this one. It’s six minutes long, but it’s pretty darn funny.

A few short notes

I had to update our 30 year high school reunion site tonight (by the way, we went with MyEvent.com), the latest in my many excuses for not posting more.  Here are some tidbits:

What do they have against the solar eclipse?

On the front page of the Fox News website today:

Students protest immigration reform, a solar eclipse and a deadly quake in Iran

Sorry for no posting lately

My 94-year-old grandmother passed away last Monday, and we’ve been away since last Wednesday for the visitation and funeral.  She was a wonderful lady who spent her life doing for others, and I’ll miss her, but I know where she is right now, and we all take comfort in that.
If I get inspired, I might […]

The Evolution (or Design) of Comment Spam

Sunday, March 19th, 2006

Guess I’ll have to see if WordPress has anything new for comment spam.  I’ve just received a ton of spam on posts for which the comments are closed.  I guess the spam has developed a resistance to closed comments.
