Ticklish Ears

Professor Daly has now resigned. As you can see in the comments in my previous post on Warren, I won’t be shedding any tears for him.

However, I’m not sure this is the right response by the college:

President Dr. William Austin made clear that the community college is now reviewing and drafting tolerance policies for all employees and we will include this training in our next staff development day.

Tolerance training? No adult should need “training” to know how to write a civil message to someone he or she disagrees with. Instituting “tolerance training” is the perfect stereotypical politically correct reaction to this sort of thing in academia.

It may well be that Warren CC still has some lessons to learn.
