Just Assorted Stuff: End of Semester, Yoda-speak, and FiboNachos

I have finished grading finals and submitting final grades (what interesting symmetry that is), and so I am done with this dreadful semester. But I’m just not ready to talk about it yet.

Still, for your enjoyment, a couple of tidbits. Both fairly geeky.

First, something sent to me by one of my students a couple of months ago:

Subject: YODA the programming language

Just thought you might find this interesting. It’s a blog entry by Matt Warren, one of the developers of C#.

A little further explanation:

And this second nugget was the Quarterly Quote in the current issue of SIGACT news (SIGACT is the Special Interest Group on Algorithms and Computation Theory):

“I’d like a large order of FiboNachos.”
“Okay, sir, that’ll cost as much as a small order and a medium order combined.”

  1. Robert Says:

That FiboNachos joke is pretty darn funny. Do they serve them in a box shaped like a golden rectangle, I wonder?

Tell you what — you miserate about your semester here, and I’ll commiserate over at my place. Deal?

  2. David Says:

    Robert:

I expect that the first two nachos are the same size. Then the next one is twice as big, and so on…

I’m about ready to be retrospective, and I look forward to reading your travails over at CON.
