I’m planning to tear myself away from the tube this summer and try to do some reading. I’ve already completed a couple of fiction pieces: Sons of Fortune by Jeffrey Archer and Prey by Michael Crichton. Light and entertaining reading.
Now it’s time to move on to more edifying fare. I’ve got three books in the queue already; one book on Christian living, and two on teaching:
- The Gift of Being Yourself by David G. Benner
- Teaching with your Mouth Shut by Donald L. Finkel, and
- Learner-Centered Teaching by Maryellen Weimer
As I work through these, I’ll report on any interesting nuggets. And if you have suggestions, especially for books on teaching, feel free to let me know. I really want to improve the classroom experience for my students, so I’m looking for anything that’ll help.
